James bond is portrayed as person who is highly educated and intelligent, out-witting his
enemies and adept in handling technology. In Gold finger, he calculates how many trucks it
takes to transport all the gold in Fort Knox. In You Only Live Twice Bond asserts having a first
in Oriental Languages from Cambridge University; in the film, The Spy Who Loved Me, an
acquaintance identifies him as a Cambridge graduate; in the film Tomorrow Never Dies,
Bond visits Oxford to study Danish. In Casino Royale, he is shown to have skill at calculating
probabilities of draws from a deck in a Texas hold'em tournament in Montenegro.
Bond is shown to be a polyglot yet Ian Fleming's stories, the films, and the post–Fleming
continuation novels contradict each other about which languages he speaks; these include
German, French, Russian, and Japanese. In the film Tomorrow Never Dies, it is implied he
does not understand the Chinese on the computer keyboard when he tells Wai Lin that she
can type instead of him.

correct. He kills in cold blood in the name of his country and he makes love to a lot of
beautiful women without a care for the future or past. Because he is a man, his character
emerges unscathed despite the fact that he often prostitutes himself in the service of Her
Majesty, the QueenThe films had all that film viewing public needed action, drama, sex,
comedy etc gripping screenplay to spur audience interests. James bond films used to have
those dramatic larger than life action sequences which enthralled audiences.
