Redwood 4-H Membership Agreement

2017/2018

For a youth to count a project in the record book or to show at the county fair in that project, the youth
must complete the project. For Redwood 4-H, project completion will now include a satisfactory level of
participation in club level meetings and events including the following:

1) 80% or better attendance at monthly Community Club Meetings: Attendance will be tracked
using sign in sheets. Each member must sign in for him or herself. Parents or other youth may
not do so. Excused absences for mandatory functions at school, church, or other official
organizations or illness will be considered if the club leader is notified of the reason for the
absence in advance.
2) Participation in at least one of the two petting zoos at Dunsmuir House held in December and
the Saturday before Easter. If a youth ends up having excusable conflicts on both dates, the
youth may request an exemption from this requirement from the club leader.
3) Participation in at least one fundraising event during the program year.
4) Participation in at least one additional community service/ outreach event during the program
year.
Please note that for 3 and 4 activities at club meetings will not count.

These are club level requirements that will be tracked by club level leadership. Requirements 1-4 will
need to be completed to a satisfactory level or no projects for the year will be considered completed. If
any youth feels he or she has a hardship that prevents meeting these requirements, the youth may
request a meeting with the Community Club Leaders to discuss.

There will still also be project completion requirements for each individual project. In general, the
member must attend at least 80 % of the project meetings as well as completing any other
requirements set by the project leader. Determination of this portion of project completion will be
made by the project leaders.
