ALCATEL-LUCENT

9365 BSR GATEWAY

BASED ON ATCA V2
RELEASE BCR 3.0

The Alcatel-Lucent 9365 Base Station Router (BSR) Gateway is a key component of the
industry-leading Alcatel-Lucent 9360 Small Cell solution. It controls and manages the small cell
access points within a W-CDMA network. The 9365 BSR Gateway, based on Advanced Telecom
Computing Architecture (ATCA) version 2, the selected technology for Alcatel-Lucent products,
provides high capacity and scalability coupled with field-proven reliability. By supporting
Alcatel-Lucent small cells for the home, office, and public places, the BSR Gateway enables
quick entry into these market segments, reducing small cells deployment costs and simplifying
network operations.

With 3GPP compliant interfaces, the Seamless mobility and simultaneous

9365 BSR Gateway easily integrates into voice and data service continuity with
any mobile service providers (MSP) 3G macro network
network and appears as a virtual Radio Applications enablement with presence
Network Controller (RNC) to the mobile application programming interface (API)
switching center (MSC) and Serving GPRS and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)
Support Node (SGSN). The BSR Gateway interface to presence server
offers flexible deployment options,
Internet traffic breakout with direct
and not only integrates the signaling,
tunneling to the Gateway GPRS Support
voice and packet gateways onto a single
Node (GGSN)
hardware platform, but also the AAA/
AAA Proxy capability and optionally the
Domain Name System (DNS)/Time of Day BENEFITS
(TOD) function. The 9365 BSR Gateway Reduces capital expenditure (CAPEX)
may also distribute traffic to a single and operating expenditure (OPEX) costs
MSC and SGSN, MSC and SGSN pools, or Offers carrier-grade availability and
to multiple MSCs and SGSNs that are not reliability
configured in pools.
