University of Hyderabad School of Life Sciences Seminar notice Gene Discovery for engineering features of C4 phenotype in C3 crops Dr. Vivek Thakur, Ramalingaswamy Fellow ICRISAT, Hyderabad Globally there have been efforts to explore novel ways to enhance yield of major crops. One of them is engineering C4 photosynthetic pathway in C3 crops, as the former has higher efficiency in fixing carbon than the latter one. Its implementation requires precise knowledge of the underlying genes and their regulation.
