For the rapid detection of Beta-galactosidase activity in micro-organisms.

Formula

Disc impregnated with phosphate buffered Onitrophenyl-B-D-galactopyranoside (ONPG)

Microbiological Tests

Emulsify the following organisms in sterile saline solution. Add 0.1ml of suspension to micro-titre tray
wells. To each well, add one DD0013 disc and incubate at 35C for 6 hours.

Shigella flexneri ATCC 12022 Negative
Citrobacter freundii ATCC 8090 Positive
Salmonella enteritidis ATCC 13076 Negative

Interpretation of Results

Colourless Negative
Yellow Positive
