The shah correlation is applicable to nucleate, convection and stratified boiling region and it uses four

dimensionless parameters given by the following equation

Where hrp is the two-phase heat transfer coefficient and hi is the all-liquid superficial convection heat
transfer coefficient for liquid phase and is calculated by Dittus-Boelter equation as

The other three dimensional number are the convection number (Co), boiling number (Bo), and Fraude
number (Fr), which are

When Co>1, it is in the nucleate boiling regime where W is independent of Co and depend on boiling
number. For horizontal tube, the surface is fully wet only if Fri >004; for Fr < 0.04, part of the tube
surface is dry and the heat transfer coefficient is lower than in the vertical tube. We define a
dimensionless parameter Ns as follows:

For horizontal tube with FrL < 0.04

Untuk tabung tabung vertical semua nilai FrL dan untuk tabung horizontal dengan FrL >0.04

Untuk N > 1
