1. ARCHAIC
Old fashion, antique.
Archaic Greece (800 BC-480

Mausoleum, Stadium.

2. MASTERY
Use of concrete.
Roman Architects absorbed a
great deal from Etruscan art
and design, and had a huge
respect for both Greek
Architecture and Sculpture.
Learned from Egyptian
Pyramid architecture and
stone work.
Temples, Basilicas, Amphi-
theatres, Triumphal Arches,
Monuments, and Public Baths.
Engineers designed and built
some of the greatest public
buildings in the history of
architecture.
Many Aspects of Roman
buildings, designs were
examined by the architect
Marcus Vitruvius in his
Architectural Treatise De
Architectura (c. 27 BCE)
Pax Romana
The Colosseum, Rome
The Panthenon, Rome
Aqueduct, Segovia, Spain
Maison Carree, France
Pont Du Gard Aqueduct,
Nimes, France (19 BCE)

3. DECADENCE
Designs were less structural
and were too ornate. It heralds
the decline and is the
beginning of the end.
