Brooks wreck kills one

The Georgia State Patrols specialized reconstruction team continues to look at a fatal traffic accident that
occurred Wednesday in Brooks County.

Gilmer Durand-Sanchez, 25, of Moultrie, died in the three-vehicle collision that occurred on U.S. 84, just past
the Lowndes-Brooks County line.

A westbound flat-bed wrecker was pulling a disabled Ford truck in the right lane about 6:09 p.m. Wednesday,
GSP troopers reported. Sanchez, driving a 1997 Plymouth Neon, rear-ended the wrecker, a GSP report said.

The wrecker driver wasnt aware of the collision at first and pulled the car further down the highway, reports
said. The Neon caught fire and was extinguished by what GSP troopers described as good Samaritans passing
by.

No charges have been filed in the accident.
