When I began writing my essay I knew right away that I wanted to write about how the

growth of social media and the growth of social acceptance led to a wide amount of acceptance

for the queer identity. Choosing this and attempting to run with it is what became the most

difficult to me. I feel that by choosing this and not exploring other ideas I unintentionally

removed other ideas and made my argument very specific, my reasoning to choosing that idea is

because I constantly heard the argument that gay was being pushed on to people back in high

school. I wanted to argue that this was incorrect and was just a way to create awareness, but this

ultimately hindered me from exploring other ideas. Once I decided to go out and find arguments

that expanded outside of this specific belief my writing didnt feel as forced. In terms of more

technical issues understanding that I had to use a multimodal source in my writing slightly

confused me, and I am slowly starting to better understand proper MLA citation. I did use MLA

format back in high school so I am familiar with the writing style, but in due time I know that I

am capable of becoming polished in my citations.
