Preface

(Only reasons for doing a study, research method used (if necessary for reader understanding), and
acknowledgements belong in a preface. Historical and other background information belong in the
text.)

Under the industrial training, I got the opportunity to work for ABC Company (PVT) Ltd, for the
divisional HR team. Due to the requirement of higher diploma in business management, I have
practiced to conduct, ISO 9001:2008 international quality standard for a recruitment process of a
senior merchandiser for Nike division.

To gain the required quality level, at the first stage, I have identified the current management
system and based the details; the ideal management system was introduced through building a
system chart and a grant chart. The difference between the current management system and the
ideal management system was the main aim to reduce the overall time of the recruitment process,
without effecting to the quality standers.

Throughout this project, you can observe the critical path that is visible in the grant chart, which
made the time reduction and the process of shifting the existing resources from the non-critical
activates to critical activates.

Through this project you can observe the quality standers that I have used to develop the system
chat, the grant chart, and the recommendations are also presented based on the international
standards.

This project had made the path to gain the practical experience form the industry to clarify the
theories which we had learned inside the lecture rooms. And the experience which I gain through
the training period had made an impact to achieve the success in my personal and to my carrier
life.

Executive summary
Summary: Most organizations require the researchers to prepare and submit a separate
summary of the report. The summary (sometimes called Management Summary or Executive
Summary) is a thumbnail sketch of the whole report. It should not contain material that isnt
also in the main body of the report. It must work as a standalone piece, because many readers
will read only this section.

The executive summary includes a definitive statement of the problem; a brief

description of research method and design; major findings and recommendations. It
is limited in length: one or more pages, 1000 to 1500 words, or something similar;
ascertain the institutional requirements. Because the executive summary is not really
one of the preliminaries, it is not included in the page numbering, even though it is
bound into the report.

01) Introduction
1) Introductory paragraphs

Based on the requirement of National Institute of Business Management, I have able to get an
internship opportunity to work for ABC Company (PVT) Ltd. And based on the internship
assignment, I have developed a system chat and a grant chart for a recruitment process of a
senior merchandiser, based on the ISO 9001:2008 International quality standards.

Company profile

1.2) Statement of problem

Recruiting a senior merchandiser for XXXX division, within 71 days.

Recruiting a senior merchandiser for XXXX division has taken more than76 days, after
building the ideal management system, the total time for recruiting a senior merchandiser have
drought down in to 71 days, which saving 5 working days. 5 working days is having the ability
to save direct and indirect cost of the organization which leads to increase the savings of the
organization.

Page | 8
1.3) Objective

To reduce the overall total time consumption of recruiting a senior merchandiser, without
affecting to the quality level of the outcome.

The objective has three parts,

1.4) Significant of the study

This report is important to reduce the overall time consumption of the recruitment process of a
senior merchandiser. By grafting the system chat and Gantt chat, had help to identify the waste
time consumption of the process. And the recommendations are help to improve the system to
gain the maximum quality outcome.

02) Background

(Chapter II is a review of the literature. It is important because it shows what previous

researchers have discovered. It is usually quite long and primarily depends upon how much
research has previously been done in the area you are planning to investigate. If you are
planning to explore a relatively new area, the literature review should cite similar areas of
study or studies that lead up to the current research. Never say that your area is so new that no
research exists. It is one of the key elements that proposal readers look at when deciding
whether or not to approve a proposal.

Chapter II should also contain a definition of terms section when appropriate. Include it if
your paper uses special terms that are unique to your field of inquiry or that might not be
understood by the general reader. "Operational definitions" (definitions that you have
formulated for the study) should also be included. An example of an operational definition is:
"For the purpose of this research, improvement is operationally defined as posttest score
minus pretest score". )

3.4) Conceptual Framework

3.4:1) ISO 9001:2008

ISO 9001:2008 quality standers is giving the guidelines to improve the recruitment process of a
senior merchandiser, which is valuable to reduce overall time consumption to recruit the most
suitable person for the open job position without making any affect to the quality level of the
outcome.

For this project, following rules have been considered while drawing the system chart.

There should be only one output from a given activity, but there can be
many inputs to a given activity.
Underline the variables and take the variables backward from the activity
box.

Following standards have been followed throughout drawing the system chat and the Gantt chart.

The presentation of the resources has to be presented in the top of the

square. Resources should be included in the hexagon.

The following formats have used to draw the ideal system management chart.

vii) Identify the floating time of each activity and balance resource.

(H I) Process of making the shelves.

This process is a non-critical activity, so based on that, we can shift the resources
to the critical activity. We can shift the H activity resources by shifting the
beginning time in 140 min.

(K) Process of making the back hard board.

This process is a non-critical activity, we can start the process in the 140 min and
starting the L process in the 150 min. this will provide more time for the critical
activities and it will provide more resources to the critical activities.

(O and P)- Process of cutting the boarders.

This non critical activity can be start in the 250 min, and P process can be started
in the 277 min, by doing this changers, it will provide more time for the critical
activities and it will provide more resources to the critical activities.

(S, T, U, V) Process of making the cupboard doors.

If we can change the time of measuring, cutting, can assembling process begin in
the 148 min we can use non critical activity resources to the critical activities can
make the process more effective and efficient. And we can use the recourses more
effectively and efficient.

(A1 and A5) Paint mixing with tinnier.

If we can mix the required paint with tinnier in the 300,330 min we can use the
time and the resources to the critical activity and finish the cupboard in limited
time period.

06) Findings

Ideal Management system

To improve the process, I recommend following as for the ideal management system.

Purchase a generator for overcome the difficulties in electricity failures.

Purchase a dryer to quickly dry up the pain and other polish to overcome the weather
problems.

Requite more labors

- One helper as the carpenter.

Purchase a polish gun to spray the polish.

Make a proper plan to utilize the human recourse and directing them to contribute to the
other processes, while they do not contribute to any other activities.

Using another helper to mix the paint, while the carpenter finishes the work.

The ideal management system is design based on to expand the business in another
2 years of time.

07) Conclusion

The main difficulties, which is affecting to implement the ideal management

system.

Constraints + Ideal management system = Practical

management system

Constraints

Electricity failures.

In the production geographical area, there are regular electricity failures. Because of this
reason, the carpenters cannot use the required electric machines and equipments for the
manufacturing process. To overcome this problem the owner has use the manual working
methods and tools. Because of using the manual methods and tools, number of defects
will get increased and the product quality will get affected.

Weather Conditions.

Based on the changing weather conditions, the pre-determined drying time will get
increased to dry up the applied polish. Because of this reason, the order filling time will
get increase and the customer will get dissatisfied because of the dilly.

Page | 30
Lack of labor.

There only five employees who are employed in the organization. Because of this reason,
the working efficiency and effectives is getting reduced based on lack of employees,
Based on this problem, there is a tendency to make difficulties on implementing the ideal
management system and get the design quality level of the product.

Wastage of paint and polish.

Based on the electricity failures and lack of labor, prepaid paint will get dry and get
wasted. So it will effect to the cost and it will decrease the quality level of the product,
which is leading to make dissatisfied customer.

When the Cupboard frame and other shelves are getting late to fix, the painters labor
productivity and labor cost competitive will get reduced and ultimately it will affect to
the overall value of the organization.

08) Recommendations

Recommendations for implementing the practical management system

Manage to measure the required timber all at the same time

Measuring the entire required timer all the same time will reduce time for the
manufacturing process. Because the entire measuring process can be done through
a single person and the other people can be utilize to other predicting activities.
Based on this method, the quality level of the process will get increased, based on
the specialization of the job and it will provide quality measurements without any
defects and errors.

Cutting the require timber all at the same time

Cutting the required timber at the same time will reduce the time to manufacture
the cupboard. It will reduce the electricity chargers, human working hours and it
will increase the value of the product. Recommending a person who is specialize
in cutting timber will be the competitive advantage to the organization to increase
the value of the business.

Smoothing the cut timber all at the same time.

By conducting the pervious recommendations, will help to do the manufacturing

process more effectively and efficient and smoothing process also can be done all
at the same time to reduce the time for manufacturing. This will reduce the
number of working hours, electricity, number of sanding papers, and increase the
quality level of the process.

Fixing the frame, shelves, boarders, back hard board, and doors.

If the measuring cutting and smoothing processes are dine based on above
recommendations the carpenter have the ability to fix the frame. Shelves,
boarders, back hard board and assembling and fixing the doors all in the same
process.
This will reduce the required time for to finish the product and this will increase
the quality of the product.

Page | 36
Mixing the polish.

If the manufacturing process conduct based on the recommendations, applying

paint process can be change. I recommend mixing the required polish all at the
same time to reduce the time of the manufacturing process.
