Application for the Position of a Diesel Machine Operator

I would like to be considered for the above position in your institution. I have learnt that there exists such
an opening for interested and competent applicants. I would like to state that the job opening closely
parallels my qualifications and career goals.

I was attached to a highly qualified Sierra Leonean migrant mechanic on apprenticeship when I was ten.
Like several youngsters in Brikama at the time, I was initiated into the world of machines. This was in the
early eighties. Since then, my life has been around machines practical work with my hands.

I actually started public service with the former Public Works Department lasting 8 years. Then I moved
to the defunct Gambia Public Transport Corporation (G.P.T.C.) for 12 years. I have also had a 4-year work
experience with Global Electric Group (G E G) which ended a couple of months ago with the expiration of
the companys contract with government.

All in all, I have over 20 years of work experience, which has sharpened my skills in controlling and
managing diesel machines. All my life, this is what I know how do to best and I cherish every opportunity
that would extend those career ambitions.
