NAME Cele
The Cut Most basic form of cutting used. It involves simply
cutting from one shot to another.
Cutting on Action/Match Most important basic skill needed for continuity

traditionally it goes from right to left. Thus type of
transition is used to suggest moving on to anewchapter of the narrative, like turning a page of a
book.
Cross Cutting
Also known as Parallel Editing, Cross Cutting is a
technique that was pioneered in the early days of
cinema. It involves cutting back and forth between
the actions occurring in different scenes. It allows
film makers to tell stories simultaneously or show
connections.
Jump Cut
Jump Cuts are when the camera moves withina 30
degree space or the time jumps. This technique
makes the audience away they are watching a film
but is also useful for showing time pass,
developments or repeated actions.
Match Cut
When we cut between two different scenes and the
images on the cut match, Therefore a connection is
suggested between the two shots.
Smash Cut
One scene abruptly cuts to another for aesthetic
narrative, or emotional purpose.
Invisible Cut
Cut is made to be invisible to the viewer so that the
film looks like one continues shot
Whip Pan
Dynamic wat if moving from one shot to another. It
uses a cross-dissolve of the blurred images created
from spinning the camera on a tripod to hide the
cut.
J-Cut : AJ cut is where the sound of the next scene precedes the picture.
L-Cut: A L cut is where the picture changes but the audio continues.
