Dear Mr. Alburger,

In my Pride Paper I will be researching physical therapy because this topic interests me and I
would like to learn more about physical therapy. I would like to learn what it takes to be a
physical therapist and different treatments that are being used in physical therapy today. The
focus of my paper is sports related injuries and different methods of treatment that are used for
these different injuries. I have found many different sources that show what my project is going
to focus on.

In my paper I will discuss what education is needed to become a physical therapist, what
someone in the line of work will see on a day to day basis, the history of physical therapy,
treatment options for different injuries, how age affects injuries and rehabilitation, and the
advancements of physical therapy and how the advancements have developed over time. I hope
to learn if this career is the best fit for me and if so what line of physical therapy would interest
me the most.

In the future I hope to work with a mentor that will show many different types of physical
therapy and will make the mentor process exciting. In my mentoring hours I hope I will get to
see different injuries being treated, and what a physical therapist sees on a day to day basis. From
this part of the assignment I hope to gain the experience of working in the field of physical
therapy. A great product for my topic would be showing a treatment commonly used by physical
therapy.
