The first midterm will be Friday, October 6th.

Due: We 9/27/2017

coefficient of static friction between the tires and the road is s . Find an expression for
the minimum speed at which the car may make the turn without slipping.
[Your answer should be in terms of r, , s and g. In addition to the maximum speed
example done in class, Examples 8.3 and 8.4 in Knight deal with turning corners. Does
your result agree with example 8.4 in the limit of zero friction?]
