July 15, 2017 To Whom It May Concern: It is with great pleasure to write a recommendation letter for Ms. Anna Schmidt. I have had the opportunity over the last year to get to know and work closely with Ms. Schmidt as she was doing her student teaching in our building and then became my long term sub in my 2/3" grade split classroom for six weeks while I was out for maternity leave. As a teacher and an involved community member, it is easy for me to recognize the many great qualities that Ms. Schmidt has. Ms. Schmidt is creative, deperidable, flexible, and fun. It is no surprise that she is well liked and people are so attached to her. She can relate and easily make the students feel confident and comfortable. People are drawn to her gentle spirit, encouraging, and sweet personality. She easily can adapt to being a team player or taking on a leadership role depending on the situation and handles it with the utmost professionalism. I was impressed that prior to taking over, Ms. Schmidt went above and beyond to come in and observe my classroom and routines on her own time to ensure a smooth transition. She used my plans as a guide but implemented new ideas and a new positive behavior award system. She not only carried out two differentiated centered based grade levels of content; but also organized field trips, completed a research project enhanced with a technology presentation, took part in our MSTEP and NWEA testing, and carried out all other teacher duties. Lastly, I appreciated the great communication she provided throughout her time in my classroom. The conversations, pictures, and emails that were sent to update me on my students’ progress were wonderful and allowed a smooth transition for me to return and complete report cards. Anna is very genuine, organized, and hardworking. She takes the initiative and it has proved to be successful. 1am most confident in Ms. Schmidt and I know when provided with the opportunity, she will impress you with her enthusiasm and skill.
