A. Definisi Research and Development

Menurut Sugiyono (2014), penelitian research and development merupakan metode penelitian
untuk menghasilkan sebuah produk tertentu dan menguji keefektifannya.

Scriven dama Borg (1974), merumuskan kriteria yang perlu dipertimbangkan membuat produk
dalam bentuk pertanyaan sebagai berikut,
1. How great is the need for the product
2. Hor large and important is the market for the product?
3. How generalizeable are the result of field test of the product
4. Did the field test result in good data on samples of all relevant user groups?
5. How thorough was the cost analysis for the product?
6. How good is the evident on the long-term effect of the produt?
7. Were side-efect of the product diligently sought?
8. Were relevant etical, professional, and research standards apply during the product
development process?
9. Was the research design used in the field test sufficiently rigorous to determine the the
product was the actual cause of any observe effect?
10. How rigorous wa the comaparison between product and its competitor?
11. How appropriate were the statistical analysis of field-test result and if significance tests
were done, did they yield statistically significant result?
