Parts of a Flower

A. Stigma: Sticky top where pollen attaches itself.

B. Anther: Produces pollen that contains the sperm cells.

C. Petals: Often color or have a scent to attract insects and even small animals.

D. Sepals: Leaf like structures that surround and protect the flower before it blooms.

E. Ovary: Stores the ovules until they are fertilized.

F. Receptacle: The branch on which the flower forms.

G. Ovules: The eggs that are stored in the ovary.

H. Filament: Supports the anther.
