1. Proper dress - Wear clothes that cover your entire body - Wear long pants and closed-toed shoes. - Remove jewelry before entering the lab - Tie back long hair - Leave all personal items, such as backpacks, purses or jackets outside the lab so that they do not get contaminated. 2. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) - A lab coat, safety glasses and gloves are required for general lab work. - Always button your coat and try to keep the cuffs tucked into your gloves. - Wear a chemical apron if working with splash hazards, volatile or reactive solution - Wear chemical resistant goggles when working with splash hazards - Always wear gloves in the lab and choose the most appropriate type - Always remove PPE and wash your hands before leaving the lab and entering the public area.
