Introduction

The purpose of this report is to explain what I did and learned during my 2 weeks internship
period from 1st August till 14th of August with Pakistan Citizens Alliance in collaboration with
Jibraan Khalid Foundation for Life who have conducted its Annual Internship Program for 2017
in this month of August. Keeping their tradition of encouraging volunteerism alive, they have
provided practical opportunities of social work to the interns.
VizRah powered this internship program and they executed this whole program for both the
organizations. In this training program, we as interns learnt how welfare organizations work day
in day out for the betterment of society.
The purpose of this report is to put in writing the work experience performed and the learning
attained from performing specific tasks while working in a professional environment. In
addition, the information contained in this report is based on my personal observation, practical
working and interviews with different people during my internship period.

My views about life and welfare before this internship:

Before this internship program, I thought that the life I was living was the most difficult one and
my path was vague and unclear. I did not have any strong perspective about life. About welfare
work and NGOs, I did not have a clear picture about how these organizations carry out their
operations and how difficult this task is.

My views about life and welfare after this internship:

After my two-week internship, I have learned and realized that life is rather more complex and
there is a lot to explore in it. One has to get out of his/her comfort zone to clearly understand
what kind of effort is required to achieve ones lifes goals
For that, one must have a clear vision of life, which is probably one of the most difficult tasks for
a person. However, once he understands it, nothing in this world can stop him from achieving
whatever he aims for.
Also, I have learned how different welfare organizations works, how complex is the
environment, how different departments and operations are handled and carried out, what
methods and techniques are used for raising funds and how much hard work and time is required
to carry out such activities.

Conclusion

This two-week a great learning experience of my life. Supported by a great team in the mentorship
of great teachers and motivational speakers of both JKFL and PCA. After this internship, I have
understood the true meaning of life and that nothing in this life will be presented to us on a plate
instead we will have to make efforts and come out of our comfort zones. We have to make a move
to achieve everything in our life. It has been an eye-opening journey for me and I have learned
from this program that there is a completely different world out there just waiting for us to explore
and make difference in it. Life is complex and everything requires a sacrifice of our comfort
barriers and a lot of diligence and hard work.
