Britains Affronted Youth

The documentary titled 'Britain's Affronted

Youth' will focus on how there has been a
monumental shift in Britain's youth regarding
how easily offended they are as a generation.
The main topic that will be explored throughout
the length of the film will be why the current
British Youth is referred to as the Cotton Wool
Generation and whether that is a correct
statement based upon
fact, not just opinion. In
order to evaluate this
topic; Interviews will be incredibly important,
recording live reactions to offensive content
and then reviewing their opinion on that. The
Offensive content used for the interviews will
revolve around: Sexism, Feminism and
Racism due to their relevancy at this current moment in time.
Examples of offensive content on social media that has not been
reported will be shown to the interviewees to see how they react
to it, whether they view it the
same or differently for example.
Archived footage will be used in
order to compare the reactions of
people now and how opinions on
offensive content has changed,
as well as B roll footage and a
soundtrack that is relevant to
British Youth. The documentary will
be presented in style similar to
Louis Theroux documentaries; in terms of not shying from asking
questions that may offend the audience or interviewee. Due to
the target audience being youth, the documentary will be aired
on YouTube and across Social Media, therefore the audience will
be predominantly young people as is intended.
