In todays society, there are many types of people with different personality traits that can be
either good or bad. In businesses, the customers being attended to arent always cooperative,
there isnt just one type of customer; everyone is unique. A company must be able to
communicate wither their shareholders and investors in order to deliver important information
that can either make or break a company. The best person who can persuade customers in buying
products and services and who are able to communicate with investors and shareholders is the

The role of an Accounting Manager

Accounting managers responsibility includes: to operate as the lead point of contact for any and
all matters specific to customers, forecast and track key account metrics, communicate clearly
the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders, provide
training to new and existing staff when necessary, supervise the general ledger group to ensure
all financial reporting deadlines are met, and to respond to inquiries from the Director of
Finance, Controller and other finance and firm wide managers regarding financial results and
special reporting requests. The role of an accounting manager should not be taken airily because
without them, the business can crumble or not perform to their full capacity since customer

As an accountant manager, one must be able to multi-task because many projects would be
conducted and the accountant manager would need to pay keen attention to details. Listening Commented [LR7]: An accounts manager needs to both
skill goes hand in hand with analytical skill because in order to come to a solution for a problem, multitask and be detail oriented. Cut
one must listen to the customer and analyze the problem. Relationship building skill is important
because one must maintain a close relationship with customers and stakeholders. Another very
important skill needed is to communicate bother verbally and written because the accountant
manager must be able to speak or write to the customers in a way that they can understand.
Presentation skill is important because people often judge the company based on how the
employees deliver a presentation and also, this skill is needed to market ideas to a panel. As you
can see, an accountant managers job is very important. They are the go to person when dealing

Preparation to become an accounting manager

In order for me to become an accountant manager, I must:

Attend school
Attend seminars
Develop necessary skills
Perform extra research
Keep up with advancement

Attending school will help me to reach my goal of becoming an accountant manager because it
would teach me majority of the skills necessary in my work field. I will develop my skills by
doing internship where I will be able to complete tasks that are sometimes challenging and test
my knowledge in the area. Attending seminars that assist with skills that are vital for this
position will help me to develop them. Extra research will be done by reading books about
accountant and their view of the position. Keeping up with advancement to know what people
like, need, and want which will be helpful to me because an accountant manager must be able to
deal with many customers and stakeholders.

I want to pursue this job because I believe it is perfect for me and not anyone can do it. Not
everyone is able to communicate with people, to present, multi-task, and meet the demands or
criteria of the job. This position is different from the others because you dont just sit behind a
desk and wait for someone to assign tasks for you. This job entails you to be passionate about it
and be trustworthy because you are the person that interacts with the customers. Commented [LR9]: Condense and elaborate on more

My life after 5-10 years

In the next 5 to 10 years, I would have already gained my masters degree in accounting. In
gaining this degree, I would like to work at a major commercial organization in the states. The
reason I chose the states is because like I mentioned before, Belize doesnt offer the job of an
accountant manager. The salary I will be earning if I work as an accountant manager in the states
would be an average of $63, 925 per year. A skill financial analysis is associated with high pay
for this job. For the first five to ten years in this position, pay increases steeply and any
additional experience does not have a big effect on pay. If I stay in Belize, I would work as a
customer service manager at BEL. I will do similar work as an accountant manager; however,
my pay would be $42,000 per year.

My last option would be to work at an accounting firm. This would allow me to apply all that I
have learnt over my years of school. My job will then be to make financial statements and keep
track of peoples monetary transactions.
