You and I have known ceach other since 1988, and have been close friends ever since, T have repeatedly told you, that in representing clients before your staff at DOI, I would never hurt you, intentionally or unintentionally, I meant that then, and still do now. 1 would NEVER EVER do anything to hurt you. Rather, all that I have done is to try to uncover B.S, in the Agent Services Division of DOI, to give you a legitimate reason to terminate the “dead wood” SPA employees, that you have inherited since being elected. | currently represent: Roland Loftin, Andre Day, Perla Lopez, Robert Mathis, A.A.L, Cannon Surety, and the N.C. Bail Academy. The Mathis representation has caused me many headaches and much distress. I cannot control him or his brother, Tim Mathis. ‘Tim Mathis requested to use my office and conference room for depositions. When 1 discovered that he wanted to depose you, I said a flat NO. I tried my best to got him not to request ‘your deposition, 1 told him that you could offer no answers or testify to anything relevant to the ‘ASD of DOI. He is out of control, to the point where I have washed my hands of him weeks ago. Thave recent threatened his brother that I will withdraw from representing him if he engages in ‘any type of outrageous conduct towards you. I have let him know that I consider any attack on ‘you, my close friend, as an attack on my reputation, Gone told me last week that when he spoke to Mark Edwards recently, that the two of you feel that I am behind Tim Mathis’ deposition of you. That is NOT true at all, I have Tepeatedly asked him NOT to depose you. Rather to leave it only to ASD employees. He is indignant. 1DO NOT represent him. I WILL NOT represent him!!! He's an ass, A smart ass at that. He says things that are not true. He is not a client, he is nota friend, he is not an associate of mine. Please DO NOT lump me in with him or his antics! I have NOTHING to do with him or them, 1 did make an error in judgment, and for that I am very, very sorry. ‘That error was to allow Tim and Robert Mathis to attend my depositions of Angela Hatchell and Shakilya ‘McCovery (the complaining witness) in the Perla Lopez, case. They contacted Perla and made the request. Perla did not object and asked me if I had a problem. I did not atthe time, so [let thom sit in on my 2 depositions, which I can do. IFT could reverse the hands of time, knowing what I know now, I would NEVER have let them in the roomlt!!_ That is the only reasonable rationale that I can think of why you may believe I am behind ‘Tim Mathis’ deposition of you. Which I am not. You will notice, that of all the cases I have with DOL, not one time have 1 EVER intimated any attempt f0 obtain any discovery from you individually. Ihave not, and I will not do so. I don't throw rocks and hide my hand, One of my faults is that I want people to know that 1 ‘am coming after them. 1 don’t like to be sneaky in that regard. 1 will NEVER come after you.You are a close and dear friend, All that I have done so far, is to provide you with information to terminate several SPA employees in ASD that { believe are hurting you and your department, Nothing else | have always supported you, and will continue to support you NO MATTER what. 1 support my friends, whether they are right or wrong. ‘That has been my hallmark all of my life. ‘There is NO exception, including with you, [ also do whatever I can to punish my enemies and the enemies of my friends.
