OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTH, WOMEN AND PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

AT RURAL ELECTRIFICATION AUTHORITY.

The Rural Electrification Authority (REA), a State Corporation under the Ministry of Energy
& Petroleum was established under the Energy Act No. 12 of 2006 with the mandate to
accelerate the pace of electrification in the rural areas.

In line with Treasury Circulars No. 14/2013 and No. 1/2015, REA at all time allocates 30%
of its procurement spend to youth, women and persons with disabilities. These groups are
requested to regularly check the REA Website at www.rea.co.ke or the IFMIS Portal at
supplier.treasury.go.ke for tender opportunities. The same opportunities will advertised in the
daily newspapers as and when available.

Further, REA is open to pre-qualification of Youth, Women and Persons with Disabilities
throughout the year and the various groups should apply to be prequalified by submitting the
following documents

1. Application letter addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, requesting to be


registered by REA as a supplier/service provider
2. Company registration certificate or Business Name.
3. Valid Youth, Women or PWD Certificate
4. Directors Identification documents
5. Latest CR 12 Certificate for Limited Companies.
6. New generation PIN certificate
7. Valid Tax Compliance Certificate
8. Power of Attorney, detailing individuals authorized to transact business on behalf of
the company
9. Detailed Company Profile
10. Audited Accounts or proof of holding a bank account.
