The Earth has a magnetic field because the magnetism force acts in it.
Magnetic field

The solid part of the Earth. Has three layers: the crust, the mantle and the core
Geosphere

The air. A layer of gases which envelops the Earth


Atmosphere

All the water on the Earth


Hydrosphere

All the living beings which inhabit the Earth


Biosphere

Is the middle layer of the geosphere. It is below the crust and lies to 2.900 Km
The mantle below the surface

The crust that makes up the continents. Granite is the most common rock
Continental crust

The crust that makes up the ocean floor. It was created by volcanic activity.
Oceanic crust

Is the centre of the Earth, below the mantle. It is mainly made of iron.
The core

Chains of high mountains. The Himalayas or the Andes


Mountain ranges

Large extensions of flat land. For example the Amazon plain or the Sahara
Great plains desert

The areas near the coastline, under the sea.


Continental shelves

Chains of submarine mountains with volcanic activity


Oceanic ridges

The deepest areas of the ocean


Oceanic trenches

The largest plains on the planet


Abyssal plains
