Figure 1. This is an example of using monosaccharides. This is a picture of the testing tubes after
doing a Benedicts lab. The orange substance is five drops of water, five drops of benedicts, and
35 drops of glucose together and put in boiling water for about five minutes. The blue substance
is five drops of water and five drops of benedicts together and put in boiling water for about five
minutes.

tubes after doing an Iodine lab. The clear tube has five drops of water in it. The yellowish-orange
substance is five drops of water and two drops of iodine together. The deep purple substance is
five drops of water, two drops of iodine, and five drops of starch together.
