To keep students focused and engaged, utilizing their need for
stimuli in the activity or assignment.
This strategy should be used during students time of practicing
what was learned.
This strategy can be implemented by building it into an
assignment or asking students to share roles in the assignment.
They will have individual means of contributing to their group to
learn and engage cooperatively.
Students can be assigned different elements to look for within a
reading, and then collect as a group to share what they
discovered and discuss it with each other.
Or
Students can be assigned different roles such as "scribe" and
"reader" to engage the group collectively for a shared goal.
This strategy should not be used in assessments of individual
work, but it can be used to assess the students level of
engagement with the material and the environment best suited
for their learning style.
