In Local News

A deceased body was found at a Bus terminal in Patterson by a NJ Transit worker

overnight. The mans body was found at the Broadway Bus terminal near City Hall according to

NJ.com. The mans body was shown to have severe trauma when found 2:30am this morning.

The police are investigating matter to see if the man could have been hit by a bus at the terminal,

the bus terminal is utilized by NJ Transit and Community Coach busses according to NJ.com.

A seventeen-year-old from Edison experienced an electric shock this week, after touching

high voltage wires that caused him to fall thirty feet. The boy climbed a railroad trestle in

Metuchen when he was shocked by the voltage lines according to News 12 New Jersey. After

touching the voltage lines, the boy fell thirty feet onto the train tracks according to News 12 New

Jersey. Metuchen police said that, the boy was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New

Brunswick. The boy was transferred to Saint Barnabas Burn Center in Livingston on Wednesday

and he is in critical but stable condition according to News 12 New Jersey.

In National news

Wildfires continue to burn across parts of Northern California, affecting many acres of

land and displacing many residents. As of Wednesday, 23 people have died, many are

hospitalized and the fire has devastated around 2,000 buildings according to the New York

Times. 91,000 acres of the Napa and Sonoma counties have burned so far in this fire forcing

20,000 or more people to evacuate said the Times. This is up from 52,000 acres the day before.

Chief Ken Pimlott with Cal Fire, Californias firefighters agency, said that California had a wet

winter and then a hot summer which dried out a lot of the surrounding bush and wooded areas.

Firefighters continue to try and control the blazes any way that they can, though with high winds

coming in it is making it harder to do so.

Louisiana State University police issued warrants for the arrest of ten members of Phi

Delta Theta according to CNN.com. The police are investigating if the death of eighteen-year-

old Maxwell Gruver, a freshman fraternity pledge at Louisiana State, was caused by fraternity

hazing. The cause of death for Gruver was acute alcohol intoxication with aspiration said the

East Baton Rouge Parish Coroners Office. The ten fraternity members are being charged with

hazing and one member has a negligent homicide charge according to CNN.com. Louisiana

States Phi Delta Thetas chapter is suspended both by the University and national office for the

fraternity according to CNN.com.

Raila Odinga (O-DING-A) announced this week that he would be suspending his run as

Kenyas opposition leader in their redone election according to CNN.com. The results of the

August 8th election that showed the incumbent Uhuru (U-HU-RU) Kenyatta (KEN-YA-TTA)

had won, were looked over in Kenyas supreme court. The court deemed the election was fraud

and called for a new election within 60 days according to CNN.com. Odinga had challenged

Kenyattas win effectively in court, but still suspended his run according to CNN.com. It

unknown at the time if Kenyatta would become president by default or if the election would

continue as planned.

Two top ranking Generals in Chinas Military have disappeared from the public spotlight

before Chinas Party Congress. General Fang Fenghui (FEN-GH-UI) the chief of the Joint Staff

Department for the army and General Zhang (Z-HANG) Yang director of the military political

department were high ranking officials in Chinas government but had disappeared from the

Chinese media for a month or more according to the New York Times. Chinas leader Xi Jinping

(JIN-PING) is working to strengthen and rework its military, as the Party Congress begins on

October eighteenth, so does his second five-year term as leader according to the Times. General

Fang looked to be up for a promotion within the congress but, for reasons not clear at the

moment seems to be being investigated for abusing his office position, General Zhang is being

investigated as well according to the Times. The two generals replacements were announced

this month.

In Sports news

The New York Yankees beat the Cleveland Indians in game five of American League

Division Series last night. Didi Grigoris got things started for the Yankees with a home run in the

first, then another two-run homer by Didi in the second Bringing the score to 3-0. CC Sabathia

was the starting pitcher for the Yankees and pitched 9 strike outs through to the 5th inning.

Cleveland scored two runs in the 5th bringing the score 3-2. Indians starting pitcher Corey Kluber

lasted 3 2/3 innings before being pulled according to MLB.com. The Yankees scored two more

runs off of a Brett Gardner single in the 9th making the final score 5-2 Yankees. The Yankees

have come back from being down 0-2 at the start of the ALDS according to MLB.com. The

Yankees will play the Huston Astros at Minute made park on Friday at 8pm, the game can be

seen of Fox Sports 1.

The New Jersey Devils were away in Toronto last night to play the Maple Leafs. Devil

Miles Wood scored two goals in the first period and the Maple Leafs James van Riemsdyk (RI-

EMS-DYK) and Dominic Moore each scored a goal bring the score 2-2 at the end of the first

according to NHL.com. The second period was all Devils as Pavel Zacha scored a powerplay

goal for the lead. The Maples Leafs got a 3 on 5 power play after Zacha and John Moore of the

Devils both got penalties. The Devils capitalized for a shorthanded goal by rookie Brian Gibbons

making the score 4-2 at the end of the second. Devils Blake Coleman and Pavel Zacha scored in

the third period and Austin Matthews for the Maple leafs scored making the final score 6-3

Devils according to NHL.com. The New Jersey Devils remain undefeated since the start of their

season.

leaving her husband. Weinstein continues to face allegations of Sexual harassment while

Hollywood actors and actresses continue to speak out against him. The story first came out in

the New York Times after investigating claims of sexual misconduct from many women

towards Weinstein according to E online. Harvey and Georgina were married for ten years and

have two children together.
