Weaving Codex

Volume 1
Children of the Equinox:
It was the title given to the first mages to ever fully assemble the
Equinoxocian Sphere an artifact banished by the gods themselves and
locked away within the inhabitants of Arborea. But like any story one must
go back to the beginning...

It begins with Nerezzar hailed by Devans as the god of Necromancy, in a

time before the great war an up and coming mage had a duel with a rival for
the hand of a woman. The mages desire for her was unquenchable his thirst
never ending. He indulged her every thought with the pen of a poet, he
satisfied her pallet with his wonderful culinary prowess, she was in constant
awe by him. This was his final test, to defeat his bitter rival once and for all
and claim the young maiden for himself. The anticipation was barely being
contained by the headstrong Mage. But what he did not realize was his
adversary had been training too, seeking the maiden for himself doing the
same as he had. The battle was out in the open, the local village folk came
to witness a friendly duel among wizards. The battle was over quickly the
mages rival defeated him with an advanced spell knocking him from the
combat area. Victorious the rival sorcerer boasted of his strength and
prowess taking the fair maiden for his bride. The mage now humiliated and
defeated ran out of the town and into the cliffs to hide his shameful
weeping. Deep in the mountains he built himself a place to dwell and begin
to hone his skills but not as some simple mage, but as an all powerful
necromancer. He took on the name Nabrum Nightshade.
Nightshade
Began his work focusing on the things that he lacked physically. Making himself
larger and more imposing at the same time fashioning himself some dark armor
cloaked in absolute shadow to become more menacing and vicious. However he
had reached a deadend, his skills had improved but there was no way for him to
reach any further without the help of something beyond him. So Nightshade went
into the deepest most vile pits of the earth bending on one knee he prayed to
Nerezzar asking for some boon or token of his favor so Nightshade could defeat
his rival of old. Nerezzar answered him, bestowing upon him the single most
powerful artifact the god could create. The E quinoxocian Sphere, oozing with
untold strength and power Nightshade took hold of it and with it came back to the
town where he had been defeated. Time passed like eons since the last time he
stepped foot in the place he had been so utterly defeated. The rival he lost his
future to had taken on the name Kebaltin Hyme simply meaning Seeker of Hope.
A noble name for a noble man Kebaltin had lived a life of heroism and honor his
name was a shining beacon into the world as a symbol of valor and above all else
integrity. However his light was soon extinguished as he arrived to face
Nightshade the necromancer slew him with the devastating power of the Sphere.
Nightshades former lover now older and matured, stood and watched while he
slaughtered her husband in front of her, and the children she had bore him.
Nightshade, wrapped in his own ego and arrogance boasted in front of her,
laughing at her pain and the pain of her children relishing the fact he slew the man
that stole the future that should have been his own. He then turned to the skies,
floating with his new found powe.r he set out to build himself a fortress. There he
gathered necromancers from all across the world of Arborea he called his new
followers Children of the Equinox. Years past then decades, Nightshade realized
he didn't age during this process, the sphere not only granted him power but at
the same time prolonged his life. His army of evil sorcerers grew and so did his
arrogance even lashing out at the gods claiming to be their equal and one day
their downfall. However Kebaltins children never forgot what Nightshade had
done. Kebaltins first born son Istred trained as a noble knight under the most
famous of warriors ever learning and ever growing stronger, he began to follow the
goddess Velik, with her assistance he gathered the most brave and stout hearted
individuals for an assault on Nightshades fortress. He had one ace up his sleeve.
His fathers enchanted sword which held the noble wizards magical essence,
leading the charge Istreds noble band fought to through the fortress slaying every
necromancer they came across to they finally reached the top where Nightshade
stood in his dark armor and cloak, a grin plastered on his face. Istred told his
company of men to stand back, he would battle his father's killer. And so the two
did furious battle Istred with his magical sword and Nightshade with his
necromancy the conflict lasted for hours the two equally matched at first but
Nightshades enhanced body was proving to be the end of Istred. But the magical
sword proved to have one final use. Nightshade prepared the sphere for its last
attacked to finally end the young Istred, only to have the attack reflect back at him
from the swords blinding light. Nabrum Nightshade lay defeated him the blast, his
body disintegrate, devoured by his own power, and there lay the
Equinoxocian Sphere. In a light of pure divinity came down the goddess Velik
goddess Kaia and the god Karas all three commended the warriors on their
victory. The gods broke apart the Sphere and instead of banishing it from the world
sent its energy out into the world of Mortals, granting them with the power simply
known as Weaving Magic. As for Istred and his warrior company they were the first
to found the:
