Earwigs

The earwig is a small sized insect that is found in a variety of habitats but the most in
grass and woodlands. It can live about 2 years. There are nearly 2,000 different species
of earwigs that are found throughout the American, Australian and Eurasian continents.
The earwig has sharp pincers on its abdomen and large wings. Although earwigs are able
to fly, they often don't. They like to eat plants the most. Earwigs are nocturnal. During
the day they hide in cracks in damp areas. They are 1cm - 3cm long and weight 2g - 5g.
Earwig can be black, brown, yellow or tan.
