House Elf
Ahouse-elf (sometimes also referred to as just elves)
is a magical ereature which is immensely devoted
and loyal to the one designated as their master.
House-elves serve wizards and witches and are
usually found under the employment of old wizarding
families taking residence in elaborate establishments,
ind must do everything that their
masters command unless they are freed.
Ahouse-elf can only be freed when their master
presents them with clothes,
House-elves have their own brand of wandless
‘magic which, despite their small physical size,
is very powerful.
‘Small Servants and slaves. House-clves are
between two to three feet tall, with spindly arms
and legs and over-sized heads and eyes. They
have pointed, batlike ears and high, squeaky
voices. Rather than conventional clothing,
house-elves wear discarded items like
pilloweases and tea-towels.
House-elves are often owned by older wizarding
families who live in large houses. They aren't
‘usually considered a person and are similar
toa slave or a servant,
House Elf Names. Most known house-elves are
given names by their master(s). They are often odd.
Male: Dobby, Kreacher, and Hooky are names of
some known male house elves
Female: Winky and Hokey are names of some known,
female house elves.
Powerful Magic. All house-elves have their own.
brand of powerful magic, which allows them to
perform tasks, such as Apparating, where wizards
‘and witches eannot, More than just a mere
housekeeper, a house-lf is a ruthless protector
‘of those to whom they give their allegiance
Tiny, cute and bold. they are small with fair skin,
all house elves are bald even females, their eyes can
‘be any color, and their bodies are thin and wrinkled,
normally their nose is a very particular feature ine
ach elf because they ate very prominent.
House EIf Traits
Ability Score Increase. You get +1 (o INT.
‘Age. Iris unclear how old House elves are before they
are considered mature. It's implied that house-elves
‘can grow to be into their hundreds.
“Alignment. Most House-elves are good or neutral, but
some can be chaotic based on who their master is/was.
‘Size, Small Most House-olves are between 2 and 3 feet tall.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 25 feet.
Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of
you as if t were bright light, and in darkness as ifit
‘were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness,
only shades of gray.
‘Obedience. \ house-elf must obey any commands
iven to them by their masters, At times, they seem ¢
o desire to disobey these orders, but as their master's
ordersare "the house-elf's highest lav;” they cannot,
and are forced to punish themselves if they do
(fan order is disobeyed by a house elf with a master
they must take 1d4+Str). However, a house-elf may
find loopholes within their master’s or mistress orders.
A house-elfcan only be freed when their master presents
them with clothes,
Innate Magic. House elves may use magic to protect a
‘master or complete tasks. At level I House-elves know
the spell mage hand and witch bolt. At level 2 house-elves
‘can use the spell blink, but must take a short rest before
‘east blink again. INT 1s your spell casting modifier when
‘casting these spells.
Thin Build. You take a disadvantage to Strength checks
to break or force open objects, but you proficient on
‘Sleight of Hand checks.
Languages. House elves speak and can write some
‘common. If they are owned by a race that speaks a
Janguage other than common they may know that language.
