RICHARD T. ORTIZ
Director III
Civil Service Commission
Davao del Sur Field Office
Digos City, Davao del Sur

Dear Sir Ortiz;

We, the DOST (Junior Level Science Scholarships) scholar graduates, are writing to you with
regards to our teaching position as a return of service for our scholarship wherein it is indicated in
the RA 10612 scholarship program that we are to be given the privilege of having a position of
SPECIAL SCIENCE TEACHER 1 (SST1) in Senior High School. However, our NOSCA cannot
be published because the said position was not in the existing Qualification Standards for Senior
High School.

Based on the CSC Resolution re Amendment to the QS for Special Science Teacher Positions and
Approval No. 1600838, we have found out that the Special Science Teacher I position can be found
in the Qualification Standards for Philippine Science High School System. Also, the RA 10612:
Chapter III, Sec. 11.a states that a starting salary grade equivalent to that of a Special Science
Teacher I in the Philippine Science High School System is to be given to the scholar graduates of
this program. We would like to know if we can use this Qualification Standards as a basis for our
teaching position so that our NOSCA can be published. Attached here are the DepED Memos and
CSC Resolution for your basis.
