1.

What are two specific things you thought about your instruction while watching your

video? (Specifically note one that you consider positive and one that you consider an area

of needed growth) One thing that is area of needed growth is my wait time after I use an

attention getter. One thing that was positive is that I would ask students if they could give

me an example of an object that can move in a straight line or move zigzag so they can

make a real world connection to the lesson.

a. Why did each of these things catch your attention? These things caught my attention

because when I didnt wait for the students to start pay attention after I used an attention

getter they were not listening to me trying to teach them the topic. Me asking the students

to give their own examples caught my attention because the students came up with some

good examples.

b. For those that are positive, why do you think so? I think asking the students to give me an

example of an object that might move in a straight line or in a zigzag with help them

connect to the lessons because the examples they give me is the students making real

world connections to the lessons.

c. For those that are areas of needed growth,

I. Why do you think so? I think my wait time needs growth because if I actually say an

attention and have a good wait time to wait for the students to stop what theyre doing

and start to pay attention to me with help the students understand the lesson better

because they will listening and participating in the lesson from the very beginning

and they wont miss anything.

II. How might you address this? I will address this by working on my wait time.
2. Was the standard-based objective met for this lesson? What specific evidence from the

video supports your conclusion? Yes the objective was met and the objective was the

students will be able to draw an example of an object moving in a straight line and in a

zigzag. At the end of the lesson the students got their science notebook and drew their

examples.

3. Were all of your students engaged? No not all of the students were engaged

a. If so, cite specific evidence from the video.

b. If not, how do you know they were not engaged? Cite specific evidence from the video.

Most of the students were engaged in the lesson but I noticed that Gage and Lilly were

not engaged in the lesson they kept playing around with each other and touching the book

I used to read to the students.

4. Were you satisfied with the level of student participation? Yes I was

a. If so, why? Cite specific evidence from the video. Because when I would ask the students

a questions mostly all the students would raise their hands to try to give me an answer

b. If not, how could you have improved it?

5. Were there any classroom management or procedure issues that needed to be addressed

during the lesson? Cite specific evidence from the video. No there wasnt

a. If so, how were they handled or how should they have been handled?

6. Do you feel that you were working the crowd? No I dont think I was

a. If so, how?

b. If not, how might you do this better? maybe incorporate more hands on activities to keep

the students more engaged.
