them for the trip. I think that the
bars run around $40.00 from him

long weekend if possible, as we
are going down to Hanksville for

The club held our annual picnic up at
Blacksmith Fork. It was announced that
the club has purchased two Lortone
rock tumblers. Raffle tickets will be
sold at club meetings and the drawing
will be held at our annual Holiday
dinner. Price of tickets are $2 a piece or
6 for $10 and can be purchased at our
club meetings up until December.

The speaker presentation for September's club
meeting will be a panel presentation of "other rock
sites" the club can venture to. Sites to be discussed
are close sites in Idaho, Colorado, Nevada, Arizona,
Wyoming and sites not visited in Utah during the
last three years. This is valuable information since
the club will be deciding on 2018 field trips in just a
few months and they will be new and different.

Septembers field trip, we will be back out to
Wyoming outside of Kemmerer for split fossil fish.
Those attending will need to meet at the 4th North
Smiths parking lot Saturday, September 6th and be
prepared to leave at 7:00 am. The cost is $65.00
plus tax for four hours of digging (plan on about
$70.00). You may keep all fish except rare species.
Equipment will be provided or you can bring your
own.

Hanksville down by the Hite/Bullfrog Marina Turnoff
and that will put us where we can get to different
sites and not have to travel so far to the sites. I will
get back with you and give you more information as
we get closer to the date but right now we will be
leaving the weekend of October 14th which will be
the weekend just after our club meeting so we will
talk about the trip at club meeting in October. Make
sure that you plan on club meeting this month at
Summit Elementary School. We meet at 7:00 pm on
Thursday the 14th of September.
The club has been approached to participate
in Cache County Schools Family Night. The
STEM portion will be in a touch and feel
format lasting about 1.5 hours (6-7:30).
Volunteers are requested. Please contact Gary
Warren, Craig Stewart or Dave Nielson.

Kemmerer
Wyoming
The club spent their
August field trip in
Kemmerer digging for
petrified wood in the
Blue Forrest.
The day started in
the dark and Craig
Stewart reports that,
During the morning
we had lighting and 3-
4 strong rain storms
that left us wet and
with the wonderful
