Trainee Dental Nurse
1. The provision of effective and efficient patient care and ensuring a high
standard of service is achieved at all times
Daily checking and routine testing of equipment
Daily cleaning of surfaces in surgery and decontamination room
Set up and prepare equipment, instruments and materials
Deposit and collection of instruments and equipment from clinical areas
for processing
Processing of equipment/instruments in a timely manner to ensure
adequate stock levels
Identify and report instruments/equipment which require
repair/replacement
Sharpening and maintenance of instruments
Housekeeping of surgeries and decontamination area to ensure they are
kept clean, tidy and fully stocked at all times

Adhere to all practice policies and procedures as specified, including the
Infection Control Policy, COSHH and Health & Fire Safety
Participate in audits undertaken

Post holder will be expected to communicate with all staff within the Dental
Team and with patients
Physical:
Lifting and transporting containers with clean and dirty instruments
Lifting baskets of instruments to and from washers and sterilisers
Cleaning of surgery and local decontamination room areas
Mixing and preparing of materials and equipment during clinical procedures
Supporting dentist or DCP during procedures
