Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy is simple, and yet it drives everything that I do, both in and out
of the classroom. I find that the greatest accomplishments were founded by not one person,
but the contributions of many. Therefore, cooperation and communication defines my teaching
style, as it is what the foundation of our modern society is made of. In my classroom, discussion
is the key to learning. I subscribe to Vygotskys theory that a childs development is heavily
driven by language and culture, and so I constantly promote active, enriching conversation not
only between me and my students, but between student and student. It is through this peer-to-
peer interaction that minds grow and flourish. Through wise facilitation and communication
instruction, all children can form their own thoughts and opinions.
