Owner: James Dolan of JD & The Straight Shot

One of the few things you could get almost every Knicks fan to agree on is that Dolan needs to
sell the team. Dolan, whose father Charles made the familys money by founding Cablevision (yet
another boon to New Yorkers), has mismanaged the team at every step, often insisting on his inclusion
in decision-making despite knowing next to nothing about basketball. He reversed that habit for living
legend Phil Jackson, granting him full control to try and revive The Triangle offense and bring the
Knicks back to glory.

It didnt work out so well, and despite picking up Jacksons option for 2 more years in April,
come July 1st he was no longer with the franchise. That tends to happen when you berate and demean
your franchises two best players. Dolan sat back and watched it all happen until public outcry became
too much to handle, but firing Jackson doesnt vindicate Dolan for being star-struck in the first place.

The Zen Master had clearly lost his passion and ability to care about much of anything, and with
the way things unfolded, it only further adds to the long history that cements Dolan as one of
professional sports worst owners.

And did I mention Dolan had Knicks legend Charles Oakley physically thrown out of a game last
season by security? Yep, nothing ever comes easy to this franchise.

President of Basketball Operations: Steve Mills

Steve Mills had been with the organization for quite a while when Jackson was fired, and
unfortunately, Dolans business conservatism compelled him to promote Mills, the longest-tenured
member of the Front Office, to PoBo. Mills, whos been around for the organization for over a decade,
has witnessed nearly every embarrassment of the 21st century, from Isiah Thomass sexual harassment
lawsuit to whatever the hell Eddy Curry was doing in that limousine.
I dont want to condemn him by association, but when Jackson was fired most Knicks fans hoped
for a fresh start. Mills is the opposite, and he inspired little confidence after overpaying for Ron Baker
and Tim Hardaway Jr.

General Manager: Scott Perry

Finally, some possibly stability. Scott Perry was hired as the GM in July; he is the 2nd in charge
and reports to Mills. Coming from the Sacramento Kings organization, Perry had quietly amassed a good
reputation around the league over the past few seasons before coming to NY as a darkhorse candidate.
Instead of high-profile candidates like David Griffith or Sam Hinkie, Perry was eventually hired.

His hiring isnt a bad move per se, but its unclear how much control he will have in the big
picture, considering that David Griffith took his name out of the running after discovering he wouldnt
have full decision-making powers.

Head Coach: Jeff Hornacek

Its not entirely clear how good of a coach Hornacek is, especially considering the shackles he
had to wear while trying to run The Triangle. He still has that miraculous Suns team that somehow
managed to win 48 games in the 2013-14 season, but on the other hand, Phoenix let him go less than 2
years later, so who knows? Well see how the young players develop under him this season.
