Rules of Copyright

We are having this conversation because you broke copyright law by stealing someone

elses work and tried to pass it off as your own. Failing to follow this law could result in varied

negative consequences such as: failing grade, expulsion, or lawsuit. A copyrighted work is

protected by the U.S. constitution and includes works in a fixed form both published or

unpublished. The only time you can include this type of work in your own projects is through

fair use. In order to meet fair use, the included copyrighted material can only be used in the

following ways: use a small amount of the work, add new meaning and make it original, use for

nonprofit, and rework and use in a different way. You cannot include the full work in your

project you must use only a small amount and make sure to give credit to the source. You need

to keep this in mind for the future especially if you post a copyright infringing work on the

internet as this could lead to a lawsuit.
