StoryCorp Interview Reflection - Senior Capstone Project

Explain who you interviewed and why you chose to interview that person.

I interviewed my mom. I chose her because she is a really wise person and has faced a
lot of adversity in her life. She provides the best answers to the most in depth questions
and I knew that her advice/answers would be the most useful for the public.
Why did you choose the questions that you did? What was your thought process when picking
questions?

I chose the questions I did because I knew they would evoke the most emotion from my
mom. I knew that questions asking about her childhood would provide the most insights
and the best answers.
What is the most important thing you learned during the interview?

I learned that my mom didnt have any regrets throughout her life. She explained that
everything in her life played out the way it did because she made certain mistakes and
she doesnt regret one.
What do you wish you had spent more time on or done dierently?

I wish I had spent more time talking about her future and what plans she has in store.
What did you find most challenging during this task?

I found that choosing questions was the hardest task. There were many questions that I
would have loved to ask.
How did the person you interviewed respond to being interviewed?

My mom enjoyed being interviewed. She liked the questions that she was asked and she
responded with very detailed answers.
