A holiday thats out of this world!

1

Have you been to Barcelona, Bali and the Greek islands ? Are
2

you tired of all the typical holiday resorts? Well, in only/just a few
3

years from now, youll be able to try a holiday in space! You will have the opportunity to take a short
4

break at the Galactic Space Hotel, with the chance to see our planet from 200 miles up.
5

Not so long ago, the idea of space travel was just a dream. Now, at the start of the 21st century ,
it is beginning to become reality. The first passenger flights into space have already been booked, and private companies
6

are now turning their attention to tourists who want to spend more time outside the Earths atmosphere.
7

One such company has designed the Galactic Space Hotel. It will rotate around/round the Earth every 90
minutes.
The company is working out what experiences they can provide for the 200 guests that the hotel will be able
to put up; for example, a 30-minute space walk, or maybe a day trip to the moon. They are also hoping to offer
8
games/sports/activities like space basketball or air tennis.
9

But before this can happen, engineers have to develop safe, low-cost space transport to get/travel to this
faraway destination. There are other problems too. Many passengers are likely to suffer from space sickness. And even if
they are lucky enough to avoid this, they will still have to adapt to conditions in space, which affect your sense of direction.
10
However/Nevertheless , for those who are prepared to put up with the lack of comfort, the view will definitely be
worthwhile. There is nowhere else where you can appreciate the full size and wonder of the Earth. Its a chance not to be
missed!

survived - todays modern humans. The creature has been named

the female of the species.

A. work B. washing C. exhausting D. ourselves E. done
F. have G. themselves H. pay I. herself J. delivered

1
A lot of
people nowadays have their chores E. done by someone else instead
2
them
of doing G. themselves . I believe that this is a good thing and I would like to
explain why.
3
First of all, most people A. work hard to make a living today and are usually too
4
tired to H.
do some of their chores themselves. So, they pay other people to do
them. For example, my parents have the housework done by a cleaning lady. This way, when they come home after
5

work, they dont have to spend their evenings or weekends B. washing clothes and dishes or mopping
6

floors and dusting. They can sit down and relax or we can go out as a family and enjoy D. ourselves .

Other people are too old to do their chores themselves. For example, my grandpa has his shopping
7
J. delivered to his apartment regularly. This way, he doesnt risk hurting himself while carrying heavy bags
and he gives other people work at the same time.

On the other hand, some people have things done just because they dont feel like doing them themselves. For
example, our neighbour has her shopping and housework done and her food delivered all the time although she
8

could shop, clean up and cook I. herself . As a result, she is becoming lazier and lazier, not to mention
less and less sociable!
9

All in all, I believe it is necessary to F. have some of our chores done by other people so we
can have time to relax and enjoy life. We shouldnt try to do everything on our own, or else we might end up
10
C. exhausting or hurting ourselves.
