Lab # 02

Objective:
To communicate two PCs using Router

Requirement:

(1) Cisco packet tracer software

Procedure:
Step1:

First of all we open Cisco packet tracer software then select Router from pop up menu bar.

Step2:

Use Enable command in order to enter in router configuration mode.

Step3:

In Router (config) we write the interface fa0/0 by press enter this command we enter in interface
mode

Step4:

Now the Router(config if ) command appear in CLI then write Ip address and subnet mask in
order to configure the the router

Step5:

To enter no shut in (command line interface) menu in order to avoid the close of router

Step 6:

Now Enter (Exit) in order to exit from router configuration mode

Step 7:

Assign IP address and gate way to both PCs.

Explanation:

Enable command:

Enable command use in order To enter global configuration mode.

NO shut command;

It Use to the shutdown interface configuration command to disable an interface.

Router config command:

Router config command is To enter interface configuration mode.

Exit Command:

To exit to global configuration mode, use the exit command.

Router (Config_ if):

To configure the terminal use the Router(Config_IF) command.

Conclusion:

In this lab we learn about the configuration of router in cisco packet tracer by using different
command as mention above procedure.
