market segments to Singapores already strong Aerospace industry

At a media briefing yesterday, hours before the facility's


official opening, Mr John Garrison, Bell Helicopter's
president and chief executive officer, said Asia is the fastest-
growing region for the firm's corporate sales.

He declined to provide actual data but said China, India and


Indonesia are among the company's key target markets.

Last year, Bell Helicopter grew its global year-on-year sales


by almost 10 per cent to US$3.5 billion. Cessna's total
revenue last year hit nearly US$3 billion - US$427 million
more than a year earlier.

The Singapore facility will serve as the regional


headquarters for both firms. Before it opened, Bell was
operating out of a small office in Loyang.

Making Singapore the new Asian hub was an easy decision,


said Mr Garrison. "Singapore is a natural location for growth
in this region. It is also a hub that allows us to attract
talented people.
