Learning Outcome 2.4 Write a simple recount; expand notes and outlines
Learning Objective By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
a) Narrate their holiday experiences using a flow map
b) Write a simple recount explaining the details in the flow map
Success Criteria Students can:
a) Use the flow map to narrate their holiday experiences
b) Use simple past tense to explain details or actions in the past
Integrated Skills Speaking, writing
Activities 1. Teacher recall the previous lesson on simple past tense by asking questions related to
their holiday.. (Eg: How did you spend the holiday? Where did you go for holiday and
etc.)
2. Students respond to teacher orally.
3. Teacher asks the students to write down their holiday experiences using a flow map
(Teacher provides an example of flow map on her holiday experiences).
4. Students are requested to share their flow map to the class, voluntarily.
5. Teacher assigns task to the class.
6. Students have to write a simple/short recount of their holiday experiences using the
details in their flow map (Teacher provides an example of a recount and highlights the
use of simple past tense in the recount).
7. Students are encouraged to use simple past tense and words that signals the past tense
while writing their recount. (Eg: yesterday, last week, etc)
