The purpose of this part was to simulate in this case is the relation between acetic with a sequence of decanters; in this case acid flow in R2 and acetic acid flow in the the system consists of two stages, as we feed. For this simulation we found a can see in figure n recuperated fraction of 96%, given a high value, since the acetic acid is the one component desired to clean the configuration is well suited.
After running the simulation, the
following the data was obtain. (Annex 1)
As seen in this configuration the solvent is
recirculated therefore its effective, since the extract stream in the first decanter has a high concentration of solute (acetic acid) therefore the concentration of this contaminant in the raffinate will be lower which is the desired result.
On the other hand, when the solvent
stream enters the second decanter it is almost pure and the concentration in R2 is relative high, therefore the operation can be improved by changing the conditions
in a way that we can obtain more solvent
in stream E2 (Recirculated stream), in this way we can improved the efficiency of the solvent in decanter 1.
The results shown indicate that exists a
better transfer with this configuration, this is the reason for obtaining more purity in the flow since this allows the solvent to recover more acetic acid.
