Three words that would best describe me would be self motivated, personable, and confi-
dent. A few years ago, I noticed that my mailbox at the street just looked very old and
honestly pitiful; so I took it upon my self to sand it down, fix it up and give it some new
coats of paint. After I finished, I stepped back and I looked amazing. As i stepped back
even further I realized that my neighbors mailboxes looked just as bad as mine had look.
So I had some flyers printed off and passed them out around my neighborhood. From
there the business just took and I started up a little business. Going through this experi-
ence it has really taught me how to work with people and deal with problems that you
aren't expecting. I love making connections with new people and it has shown me how to
be more patient and handle situations better. I think it has had a huge impact on my social
life with my friends because I notice now that they come and talk to me more about any-
thing that might be going on in their life and they just need some advice. Lastly I am con-
fident in all the work I do, if it deals with school, work, or a simple task, I will accomplish
that project and be proud of it.

Leadership
For about 2 years I was the president of a community club called vol.u.me, (volunteer
you and me). We do activities inside our neighborhood: collecting unsold yard sale items
and giving them to non-profit organizations, putting on events for children for different
occasions of the year and cleaning up the neighborhood for a better appearance. Out side
of the neighborhood we partake in things such as, helping out our local soup kitchen and
giving back in any way we can. Also for my neighborhood swim team I coached and
taught children how to swim. This job has taught me so much about how to handle chil-
dren. I enjoy making an impact on them everyday and I hope they look up to me the way I
once looked up to my coaches.
Experience
Personal Home Manager 2017 summer
Over the summer of 2017 I managed and took care of this couples house for them. They
were busy all the time and just needed someone to help them. I would do everything from
a-z; cleaning the pool, take their dogs on daily walks, organize and set up parties, and just
a lot of litter things that they didnt have time for. This job taught me to take initiative and
somewhat of a leadership role because I had to make decisions based on what I thought
would create the beset outcome.

Queen City Timing Company 2013-present

During my freshman year I started working for a timing company on the weekends. We
time running races, so 5k, 10k, half and full marathons. It has been a great experience and
job. I have learned different aspects of how a certain business functions, what works and
doesnt work. Since I have been with them so long I now can just take on a large task and
see it through, I take the initiative to get things done fast because I dont like unfinished
things laying around. I have gained a lot of good skills that I think are applicable to my
future.

Education
Lake Norman High School, Mooresville Nc

Volunteer
The summer after my sophomore year in high school I had an amazing opportunity to go
and be a consumer at Camp Joy. This was a camp were handicap people, mostly with
down syndrome, could come together and just have a marvelous week having fun. I was
inspiring to see all that these people have gone through and they still seemed to be the
happiest people I ever met. Also in the fall of my junior year I volunteered to coach chil-
dren at my local YMCA. Again, this was a wonderful opportunity to share my talents with
others.
