(eo AURORA # PUMP. jember of PENTAIR PUMP GROUP The following troubleshooting chart is furnished to you as part of Aurora Pump's continuing efforts to provide total service to their customers. ‘The troubles, probable causes, and remedies con- tained in the troubleshooting chart will aid you in quickly determining and correcting most steam tur- bine problems. However, it is not the intent of ‘Aurora Pump to supersede the steam turbine man- tufacturer's operation and maintenance recommenda~ SECTION STEM DATED JUNE 1968 INSTRUCTION MANUAL TROUBLESHOOTING STEAM TURBINE tions, but rather to supplement such data, Any spe eific’ questions or problems regarding your turbine should be directed to the turbine manufacturer. Because of the diversity of problems encountered with steam turbines, the troubleshooting chart is, divided into two sections. SECTION A. VIBRATION B, GENERAL, STEAM TURBINE TROUBLESHOOTING A. VIBRATION CONDITION IDENTIFIABLE BY PROBABLE CAUSE REMEDY 1. Unbalance 1. Uniform vibration | a. Sprung shaft . Replace shat, throughout turbine, decreasing slightly ‘under load Incorrectly located balance weights Displacement of balance ‘weights Relocate weights and valance rotor. .
