Schools in a good education system should have career guidance setup.

Such a set up can include facility

to judge a student aptitude by conducting well-made aptitude tests and arranging frequent meetings
with professionals belonging to wide array of disciplines. Such a system can help students in choosing
subjects which will suit their aptitude in the long run. Problem arises when people guiding students
arent capable enough to guide young students or the educational system is not developed enough to
allow successful execution of a complex activity like guidance in choice of career oriented subjects.
Students should never be forced to choose subjects from a stream, based on guides judgment. A good
guide should present his opinion and leave the process of choosing subjects upon students free will. So
in my opinion it is their responsibility and schools should prepare well-structured mechanisms for
guiding students in choosing subjects.

Young students can easily be influenced with regards to choice of subjects because they lack the
foresight, knowledge and experience to make choice in accordance with their potential. If they make a
wrong choice when choosing subjects that define career, then it can cause severe damage to their
professional lives. Their chances of a successful academic and professional career decrease drastically if
such a choice is made. In such a scenario, the role of a career counselor at school level becomes evident.
With his experience and foresight he can help students to choose subjects according to their aptitude. A
good counselor would benefit students in the long run as their chances of academic and career success
increase appreciably.

Though offering career counseling at school level is a very good practice, but in case of underdeveloped
countries where educational system isnt a well-organized one, career counseling activity can go wrong.
Such a thing can happen because in a bad education system, guides or teachers may not be well
equipped to perform task of guiding students in choice of career defining subjects. A wrong or shoddy
attempt at guiding students in choosing subjects can end up in leaving students with muddled up
thinking. Moreover in some cases young students are multi-talented and have aptitude to succeed in
various disciplines, resultantly limiting their career choice at young age might cause more harm than
good.

Guidance mechanism at school level for helping students choose suitable subjects is a handy activity and
schools should take proper responsibility in that regard. It can prove beneficial as long as people guiding
are well groomed and can carry out task of guidance flawlessly. In any case students should only be
given a guideline, forcing them to choose a certain subject can be deleterious in future.
Heroes in any society are inspirational figures, who have done great things for the good of their people.
People admire and follow their heroes, so the character of heroes can have impact on character of
society as a whole, but this may not always be true as people sometimes tend to forget the principles
that there heroes adhered to and just remember them on the face value. Moreover time factor between
present day and the time a certain hero lived cant be ignored as it can dilute the effect of hero on the
society.

Though people take hero as someone who is a motivation for them, but in some cases heroes may be
remembered only on specific days or a specific time of the year. In such a case people of that particular
society may admire hero but not follow his principles in their daily life. Thus a heroic figure despite being
remembered may not fully influence the character of society.

On the other hand large time span between heros era and present day can reduce the impact of a
heroic figure on the general behavior of society. For instance a certain society might consider a person
as hero who lived around thousand years ago, but because of the large time span the impact of heros
lifestyle may reduce over the years.

Heroic figures can impact behavior of society specially when they are living among the people. For
example great leader like Nelson Mandela was able to shape the behavior of south-African society with
his visionary leadership.

In short it is true heros can have profound impact on general character of society, but in many cases the
impact of heroes can reduce with time. Sometimes people of a certain society might admire a person as
hero despite not following his practiced set of principles, hence character of society can be different
from the character of their heroes.

Human cognitive activities thrive with peace of mind. In an ideal scenario, developers, researchers,
innovators, scientists and engineers should be allowed to work freely and with peace of mind in their
field of interest without governmental restrictions of any sort.

Ideally researchers should be allowed to work in the field of their interest with free will. Free will of
researchers and scientists is important because without restrictions from government or any other body
they can produce more innovations and resultantly rate of development remains healthy. For instance
we consider a hypothetical example that government forces researchers to work on a specific problem,
and limits funding in their original field of interest. In this particular scenario the research output of
researchers will go down because they will have to compromise on their interests.

Moreover if scientists arent allowed to follow their heart in research work, it can lead to frustration.
With frustration in scientists and researchers the whole academic productivity associated with them
would decrease. Resultantly they might not be able to impart education effectively.

Though in some cases government can promote certain research fields more than other in accordance
with the future and present needs of a certain society. In this way government can control the research
productivity in different fields without having to put restrictions on research activities and inducing
frustration in the researchers and scientists.

Restrictions on work of researchers from government can result in frustration and reduction in
development. Though, government can take other steps to increase research work in the field which is
most desired for national well-being. For instance steps like increasing jobs and research funding in a
particular field can be taken by government.

The passage states that ever since the introduction of evaluation system at omega the grades of
students have increased dramatically. The employers have taken this sudden rise as an inflated grading
system. Passage, though has many weak points which reduce the strength of authors claim. Author
could have made his claims more appealing by feedback from employers regarding the grading system
and while comparing the two different universities he could have presented more information regarding
grading system at the Alpha.

Author has assumed that, the employers are reluctant to offer jobs to omega graduates because they
feel their grades are inflated. Author doesnt give enough evidence to justify this assumption. There can
be other reasons for diffidence of employers in giving jobs to omega graduates. For instance may be the
employers feel that over time the standard of education imparted to graduates at omega has fallen or
they have had bad work experience with past graduates from omega.

Secondly, while comparing job hunting success of alpha university graduates with omega graduates
author assumes that alpha has no evaluation system of professors by students. Authors argument
would have been stronger if it was categorically stated that alpha doesnt have any such system. It is
possible that Alphas graduates are preferred for reasons other than just the inflated grades.

Thirdly author has assumed that only way to improve job hunting of omega graduates is to abolish the
evaluation system. This assumption is not backed by sufficient logic. Maybe, omega as an institute needs
to improve in other aspects.

In short author might be right in his claim that evaluation system has resulted in inflated grades which
has in turn resulted in reduction in job opurtunities. The problem though is that author hasnt backed his
conclusion with sufficient evidence. Authors conclusion would have been more justified if it were
backed by a survey from potential employers and proof that alpha and omega universities are similar in
aspects other than the evaluation system.

Preservation of areas with national beauty is a huge concern these days. In the recent times rate of
industrialization which has been going up at the rate of knots and the explosion of population bomb in
most countries around the globe has caused lots of destruction of the green areas and those which
embodied natural beauty through the gift of wilderness. In my opinion strong laws should be enforced
for the preservation of wilderness areas in order to preserve the left over beauty of the world and
manage the climatic problems.

In order to cater to their ever increasing needs of space due to rise of population and money or revenue
most countries around the world have been destroying the areas which possessed wilderness, greenery
and beauty. Due to this not only natural beauty has taken a beating but newer and tougher challenges
have risen. For instance the health problems faced by people living in this era due to pollution hazard
have risen immensely.

On the other hand the climate has been getting warmer with each passing day, due to destruction of
areas which once had wilderness and were unharmed by industrial revolution. Such abrupt change in
climate has put many species of animals and birds at risk of extinction. Apart from that floods, and
severe climatic effects have even hampered human life. For example in India the number of trees per
square foot has decreased a lot in last decade and last year south India was at the receiving end of a
severe heat wave which took thousands of lives.

In some underdeveloped countries though destruction of such areas is a necessary evil to improve the
economic condition of the country. Countries like Kenya and many others in Africa have no choice but to
develop their industry and for that they have to sacrifice some of their natural beauty.

In short the climate changes, pollution and other severe challenges indicate that this is just about time
to start enforcing laws to preserve wilderness areas and stop tinkering with them. If steps arent taken
at this point of time it can lead to severe repercussions in future!

All living species that exist on this planet we call earth are no less than samples of miracle. Each one of
these species came into existence after processes that went on for thousands of years. Each specie has
its own place and usefulness. Moreover all this variety of species makes our planet beautiful. In addition
to that the interdependency of species upon each other cant be ignored. Steps should be taken to
revert the extinction of all species who are facing this risk. Every living being has its own importance and
letting them get extinct is not a fair option.

Earths beauty is because of the versatility of life it can support. With every specie getting extinct a
certain bit of that versatility and beauty gets lost. It is of utmost importance to save the nature and
prevent extinction of any specie in danger. For instance a certain type of rose flower is worth saving
from extinction even though human beings may not have caused it any harm.

Earth as a whole is an eco-system where all species are interdependent on each other. Due to this subtle
but very important connection among species it is vital to try and save all species who are on the verge
of extinction. To understand the importance of this interconnection among species lets consider a
scenario where a certain type of herbivore only eats a single type of grass in that case extinction of grass
can severely impact all the herbivores who are dependent on that grass. The question of whether the
grass is at risk due to human activity or not should not hamper this process of saving the specie from
extinction. Moreover an endangered specie can be important for human beings and other living
organisms despite not being at risk due to human activity.

In certain cases though societies can not take care or save all the endangered species. Reasons of this
incapability to take care of an endangered specie can lie in lack of resources and other issues faced by a
society. In that case they can do the least and take care of species who are at risk due to human activity.

In short earth is unique among other planets of this universe because of variety of life it can afford. It is
very important to take all possible steps to save species at risk to preserve the nature of mother earth.
Moreover earth is a complex eco-system and extinction of one specie can impact others, so in order to
save eco-system from adverse effects it is vital to save endangered species whether at risk due to
human deeds or not.

Knowledge has not only improved our understanding of different issues that concern us but also help to
identify and solve the mysteries that were overwhelming without knowledge about them.

Knowledge helps us to understand the things under consideration better and appreciate their depth.
The more we gather knowledge about any subject, it becomes more and more easier to comprehend.
Scientific revolution in last two centuries is a living proof of how our ability to understand the
complexities of world has grown. There was a time when majority of people found it hard or even
impossible to believe that the shape of our planet was elliptical. With more knowledge and sound proof
this complexity was no more a complexity but became a commonly known truth.

Knowledge is a tool to identify and solve mysteries. It is not responsible for creating mysteries as stated
in the argument, rather it is responsible for highlighting the mysteries and complexities. After identifying
mysteries in different fields scholars give their all to solve them. Resultantly with each passing day the
number of mysteries that concern us goes down.

Moreover with better knowledge about things we are able to control them and use them for our well
being. For instance fire when uncontrolled was a hazard, but it became a tool for fulfilling various
human needs. This control over things indicates that the comprehensibility of things has improved
rather than regressing due to knowledge.

Things sometimes do seem complex than before with more knowledge available about them. Some
people attribute this complexity to the increasing knowledge about things. Infact the complexity of
things is actually because we can understand them better now than with lesser knowledge.

Knowledge is our only source of explaining and understanding complexity of universe. Knowledge
doesnt result in complexities and mysteries rather it solves it by highlighting them.
These days the access to information has become extremely easy due to the different and large number
of communication tools that have inundated the media Industry. In my opinion free media practicing
its right of freedom of expression has resulted in excessive scrutiny of all the famous persons or
potential heroes. Due to this scrutiny the culture of hero worship has regressed by a great degree. So
realistically it is extremely difficult or almost impossible maintain heroic status throughout ones life.

Media of recent times has access to all information possible about any person, and specially about the
famous ones. Negative points related to famous people make excellent and catchy headlines.
Resultantly, media persons are always looking for weak spots in life or personality of any possible hero
and as soon as they discover something they dont feel reluctant to highlight it. Every person has
negative points and positive points, but when media highlights negative things about famous individuals
it has a great impact. People who consider their heroes a model figure get a instant reality check. Thus it
is very difficult and nearly impossible to maintain heroic status in this era. For example

In yesteryears when people got inspired by someone and started to consider person as a hero, then
hardly anyone could lower their belief in their adopted hero. All the deeds done by hero were looked at
with respect. However, With media coming into the picture all the deeds of famous persons or potential
heroic figures are analyzed and resultantly people are more aware. They appreciate the good deeds of
their leaders but because improvement in awareness on general scale they are more ready to accept
logical criticism towards their leaders. Thus hero worship culture has declined as most of the great
leaders despite being praised arent given hero status unless they do something absolutely substantial.
