Credibility I am interested in this topic and have done some research on it
Background of topic According to Lupus Foundation of America,16 000 number of new cases of
lupus reported each year. As in Malaysia, it is estimated that 30 40 from
every 100,000 people suffered from SLE.
Central Idea The awareness of SLE is still lacking among Malaysian even when SLE is
already known as life threatened disease worldwide.
Body
(Describing chart[s] and/or graph[s])
Description of data 1. Chart 1 : The highest number of reported SLE cases in Malaysia
was represented by Chinese
2. Chart 1 : Indian have higher rate of deceased of SLE patient
compared to the percentage of its survivors

discoid and other types of lupus.
5. A balance number of percentage is shown between the SLE that
involving major organs and the SLE that does not involved major
organs.
Analysis of data 1. According to The Genetic Risk Factor Of SLE In The Malaysian
Population, in contrast to Malays and Indian, Chinese seems to be
the most affected.

2. A prevalence of 43/100,000 individuals in Malaysia has been

reported. Likewise, Chinese have the highest prevalence of SLE in
Malaysia (57/100,000), followed by Malays (33/100,000) and
Indians (14/100,000).

3. Renal disease affects about 30% of patients with SLE, and remains
the most dangerous, life-threatening complication.
4. Pleuritis, causing chest pain, cough and breathlessness, is the
most common pulmonary manifestation of SLE. Rarer
complications include interstitial lung disease and pulmonary
hypertension (both more common in systemic sclerosis) and
pulmonary haemorrhage.

5. Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is the prototypical

autoimmune disease that is characterized by autoantibody
production, complement activation, and immune complex
deposition leading to diverse clinical manifestations and target
tissue damage.
Conclusion
Conclusion These charts show the mortality rate of systemic lupus erythematosus
among Malaysian and if it is not be treated, a dangerous situation may be
occur as SLE can also lead to death.
Recommendation SLE awareness among Malaysia citizens should be actively raised as the
number of the SLE patients is getting higher day by day.
