HOMEWORK 1

University city, Monday, June 19th, 2017.

 THE ZOO STORY

FIRST PART

Two girls were visiting the opening of the new zoo in the city. A girl named Ftima
had been lost and she began to feel desperate when she saw a loner girl near the
monkeys zone. Ftima decided to talk her.

Ftima: Hello! Excuse me. Im a little lost here. And you?

Vane: Hello. Ummm No. Im waiting for my father. He told me he was going to be
waiting for me here but he has not arrive yet.

Ftima: Oh I see! Can I accompany you?

Vane: Yes, of course. I dont want to be alone.

Ftima: Im sorry. I didnt tell you my name. Im Ftima Zatino and you?

Vane: Im Vanessa Recinos. Nice to meet you.

Ftima: Nice to meet you too, Vane.

Vane: Look at those monkeys theyre really funny. I like This new zoo.

Ftima: I think the same. Im excited about it because I love the animals.

Vane: Me too. And what do you do, Fatima?

Ftima: I am a student. I am in my third year in relations affairs but when I was a

child I have dream about being a veterinarian and you?

Vane: I am student too. I am in my second year in industrial engineering because I

am good at mathematics and physical science.
Ftima: Oh! Thats a difficult career. Isnt it?

Vane: Yes, it is. I considered studying foreign languages because I was interested
in learning english and french but then I decided studying the engineering.

Ftima: I am difficulty in learning mathematics. I prefer to learn about politics,

economics, languages, etc.

Vane: Thats ok. What other things do you like it?

Ftima: I like practicing basketball and I interested in going to dancing classes.

What about you, Vane?

Vane: At the moment I am learning english in an Academy. I will continue to go to

the gym too. I like doing exercise and eating healthy.

Ftima: That sounds great!

SECOND PART.

They continue seeing the zoo. The two girls arrived in the Aquarium area.

Ftima: When I entered here I remembered the turtles. I love them.

Vane: What do you think about take care the turtles or eating they eggs?

Ftima: I detest killing animals or eating turtles eggs. I think that is a terrible action
and I am not in favor of killing them because they are in danger of extinction.

Vane: l am agree with you because I think that we should take care them.

Ftima: Now I am a volunteer of the Turtles Global Organization and is wonderful

take care the turtles.

Vane: Really? Thats amazing. Can I be a member? I am worried about them too.
How can I do?

Ftima: Yes, of course, I advise you to visit our website and then you should do
the interview to be a member.
Vane: Thank you. Now I have a reason for visiting your organization. I am grateful
for inviting me. Why did you decide take care animals?

Fatima: Because I insist on caring the animals, the environment and people will be
ok. I have angry when people pollute the planet.

Vane: Thats true. In my case when I take my bus and I inside it, I see people
throwing out the garbage. I avoid doing the same.

Fatima: You act in an excellent way, Vane. A man is coming. I think he is asking
for someone.

Vane: Oh. He is my father. Im here. (Vane shouted) I enjoyed talking with you
Fatima. It was great! Now, I need to go home. I promise you arrive in the
organization.

Fatima: Thanks for accompany me, Vane. You are so friendly and confident.

Vane: Youre welcome Fatima. I hope to see you soon! Take care and have a nice
day!

Fatima: Good bye, Vane.

Vane: Bye, Fatima.
