BANKRUPTCY AND RESTRUCTURING

AT MARVEL ENTERTAINMENT GROUP

CASE QUESTIONS

DUE DATE: THURSDAY OCTOBER 26th, 2017

1. Why is Marvel in trouble? Discuss the performance of Marvel leading

up to the filing for Chapter 11.

2. Evaluate the new restructuring plan. Will it solve the problems that
caused Marvel to be in financial distress? If yes, how? If not, why not?

3. Based on the projections, how much is Marvels equity worth per share
under the proposed restructuring plan assuming the Toy Biz acquisition
goes ahead as planned?

It is recommended, but not mandatory, that the cases are prepared in

teams (max. 3 students per team). The case should have a front page with
the names of all team members.

The case should have a maximum of 6 pages, and could have as many
exhibits as you consider necessary. The exhibits should be correctly
organized and numbered.
