Minimum reinforcement for flexural elements has been calculated according to

5.10.8 of AASHTO LRFD [18] and Ministry of Communications (MOC), Highway Design
Manual Volume 3, Structural Design Specifications. May 1992. For its particular
application to concrete design, ACI-318 [19] has been used as a minimum as
discussed in [2], which generally governs.
A sample calculation is presented for an 800 mm slab and a 300 mm wall,
incorporating all design codes. A summary table is included on the next page.
